Governor of Bauchi State Bala Mohammed has appointed Barrister Mohammed Sani as the new head of civil service. Sani replaces Yahuza Haruna, the immediate past head of service who is now appointed as the governor’s chief economic adviser.
Sani, a seasoned legal professional and administrator, will lead the Bauchi civil service and ensure efficiency and professionalism in the public sector.
Before his appointment, he was the permanent secretary establishment in the office of the head of civil service.
Also, the new chief economic adviser, Haruna, an economic planning and policy expert, is expected to advise the government on critical economic strategies for sustainable development.
He will work with the State Economic Management Team to provide and coordinate inter-sectoral economic policy direction and monitor progress in implementing government policies and programmes. He was the immediate past head of the civil service.
The two new appointees were sworn in yesterday at the council chamber.
Governor Bala Mohammed explained that the appointments are part of the administration’s ongoing commitment to enhancing governance and strengthening the state’s civil service and economic management.
The governor also approved the redeployment and swapping of two chairmen of Boards of Educational Institutions.
Dr Abubakar Dahiru Bauchi, who was the chairman of the Governing Board of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi, was redeployed to take over as chairman of the Governing Board of AD Rufai College of Education, Legal and Islamic Studies Misau.
Senator Lawan Gumau now takes over as chairman of the Governing Board of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic. Previously, he was the chairman of the Board of A.D Rufa’i College of Education, Legal and Islamic Studies Misau.
Shortly after their swearing-in, Yahuza Haruna commended the governor for finding them worthy of the appointment.
He assured of their commitment to improving the socio-economic well-being of the state’s people.
