Bayelsa State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 11 gubernatorial elections, Chief Timipre Sylva, yesterday, described the court judgement  disqualifying him from participating in the election as being against natural justice which will not stand.

Sylva spoke for the first time after his disqualification by a Federal High Court in Abuja while campaigning in Peretorubene Community.

He further “urged the people not to be dismayed” but to be prepared to come out en masse on November 11 to cast their vote for the APC.

He however promised to complete the West Senatorial road from Ekeremor main town to Agge Community in Ekeremor local government area of the state.

He identified flooding and erosion as one of the problems of Peretorubene community which is not peculiar to them, while assuring them that he is going to find a last solution and also do greater things for the community.

Sylva said, “I am happy that the government of Governor Dickson brought the road all the way to Ekeremor. Unfortunately, it has stopped there but I want to assure you that when we come in, we are going to take the road all the way to Agge. I have also promised his majesty here that we are going to operationalize the health center in Peretoru.

“We are going to ensure that Peretorubene has constant electricity and constant water. We know of the problem of Peretoru, the problem of flooding. This is not peculiar to Peretoru alone, it is a problem all over Bayelsa State; the problem of flood and erosion and I want to assure you that the solution of these flooding and erosion is standing before you because I am the solution.

“I tried to make life easier and better for the people when I was in government, that was why I built this road but that was small. This time we are going to do bigger things; we are going to build schools because one of the things that we must do for our people is to educate our people.

“I always say that the greatest resource of any people, any state, any community are the human beings. We must develop them and we must empower them especially the women; we will create millionaires. We have plans for you because we will develop an economy here that is going to empower you and create a great number of millionaires among us.

“I have the experience and I will bring my wealth of experience to bear on the development of our people and of Bayelsa State especially of Peretorubene. So come 11th of November, 2023, which is exactly one month from today, you will have the opportunity to choose and if you want to choose the development of Peretoru, then you have no other choice than to vote for us.”

Sylva also took his campaign train to Aghoro, Toru-Ndoro and other riverine communities in Ekeremor LGA.
