Peace Ogebe, a prominent player in the Super Falcons squad, has expressed deep concern over the continued killings in her home state of Benue, challenging the federal government’s alleged silence on the ongoing crisis.

The Nigerian international player revealed that the continuous killing of innocent civilians in her community has left her restless and heartbroken.

“Why all the killing? What is their goal?” Ogebe questioned in a heartfelt post on her official X account. “Why is the government silent in the face of such brutality? Do they not know how to respond, or are they choosing to remain indifferent?”

Her poignant remarks come after a series of brutal attacks on villages in Otukpo and Otobi-Akpa within the Otukpo local government area of Benue State. Reports indicated that armed assailants invaded the communities, setting homes ablaze, displacing countless families, and leaving behind a trail of devastation and loss.

In her emotional plea, Ogebe conveyed her frustration at the government’s lack of response to the violence that has plagued her homeland. “I find it hard to sleep these days because of the tragic events unfolding in Benue State. It’s unbearable,” she shared.
