The major opposition political parties – People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), have called for the cancellation of last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
They also declared a vote of no confidence on the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, calling on him to step aside and allow another person conduct the 2023 elections.
The Labour Party national chairman, Julius Abure, who spoke on behalf of the opposition parties at a joint press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, alleged that the exercise was “irretrievably compromised”.
