Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reportedly made a significant profit after accurately predicting the outcome of Nigeria’s opening match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The DMW Records boss placed a wager on the Super Eagles’ Group C encounter against Tanzania in Fes, Morocco, backing both teams to score in the fixture.

Davido’s prediction proved correct as Nigeria secured a 2–1 victory over the Taifa Stars in an entertaining contest on Tuesday.

Although Nigeria dominated possession for much of the match, they fell behind after Tanzania scored against the run of play.

The Super Eagles responded swiftly, pulling level before a late strike from Ademola Lookman sealed the comeback and ensured all three points.

Lookman’s decisive goal not only secured Nigeria’s opening-day win but also earned Davido a major payout. Reports indicated that the singer received $96,564—approximately ₦150 million.

The victory placed Nigeria in a strong position in Group C as they continue their quest for a fourth AFCON title.

The Super Eagles will look to build on their opening-day momentum when they face their next group opponents as the tournament progresses.
