The Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, in collaboration with the Centre for Ethical Conduct Orientation and Empowerment (CECOE), is set to unveil a major humanitarian initiative entitled “Operation Care and Kindness.”
In a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, the convener of CECOE, Dr. David Owah disclosed that the programme, powered by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, is aimed at empowering vulnerable groups.
“Scheduled to take place on December 19 and 20 at 10:00 a.m. daily, the initiative will deliver Yuletide welfare and relief packages to some of the country’s most vulnerable populations,” he said.
He emphasised that the programme seeks to enhance civil-military relations by fostering trust and collaboration between the armed forces and civilians.
Targeted beneficiaries include individuals living in trenches, orphanages, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps.
Operation Care and Kindness, powered by the Chief of Defence Staff and implemented by CECOE, highlights the defence chief’s compassionate leadership while reinforcing the military’s role in community support and empowerment.
“This initiative represents a significant step toward bridging the gap between military and civilian communities. The primary focus is on delivering relief to the most affected populations during the festive season,” he added.
The organisers expressed optimism that the programme will provide immediate assistance to the targeted groups and serve as a lasting symbol of care and solidarity from the nation’s defence forces.
