Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka did not suffer a serious injury during the international break.

The Arsenal winger missed England’s victory over Finland after he was substituted in Three Lions’ loss to Greece and quickly returned to his side.

The Gunners were worried about Saka’s fitness and feared that he might have sustained a long-term injury.

Arteta has however hinted that the 23-year-old would be available for selection against Bournemouth this weekend.

“It is not a serious injury,” Arteta said at his press conference on Friday as echoed by The Evening Standard.

“He is evolving really well. We are hopeful. We have a training session this afternoon.”

Saka has featured in all Arsenal matches this season, scoring three goals and providing seven assists across all competitions.

Arteta’s side are billed to play seven matches in 22 days starting with a trip to the South Coast on Saturday.
