FCT Inter-Area Council Handball Championships Begin Today

The 2024 edition of the annual FCT Inter-Area Councils Under-12 and Under-15 Boys and Girls Handball Championships will serve off on Tuesday at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja, venue of all the matches.

According to the organizing secretary, FCT Handball Association, Mrs. Holder Nkwocha, all participating teams are to undergo rigorous screening; after which the draws for the competition will be held at a technical meeting with coaches.

Mrs. Nkwocha who lamented that for yet another season, the tournament will be held without a sponsor, confirmed that players of the respective teams, will be camped at the Athletes hostel at the Old Parade Ground, Garki; but catered for by the Area Councils they represent.

The four-day championships ends on Thursday, May 30th with a closing ceremony to be graced by Professor Bola Adeyanju, president, National Association for Physical, Health Education, Sports, Recreation, Sports and Dance (NAPHER-SD).
