Fulham saw their fading hopes of qualifying for European football all but disappear after being held to a 1-1 draw by relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
The result leaves Marco Silva’s side 12th in the Premier League table with only one match remaining, realistically ending any chance of a top-eight finish and continental qualification.
Wolves, playing their final home match before returning to the Championship after eight consecutive seasons in the top flight, took the lead midway through the first half through Matheus Mane.
The hosts capitalised on a swift attacking move as Rodrigo Gomes burst down the right flank and delivered a dangerous low cross into the area.
Hwang Hee-Chan cleverly laid the ball into the path of Mane, who unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the box to send the home supporters into celebration.
Fulham responded positively and nearly equalised moments later when Sander Berge headed over from close range after goalkeeper Jose Sa failed to deal with a corner.
The visitors eventually found a way back into the contest in first-half stoppage time after VAR intervened over a challenge involving Mane and Fulham defender Timothy Castagne.
Referee Thomas Kirk awarded a penalty after reviewing the incident on the pitch-side monitor, with Antonee Robinson calmly converting from the spot for his first Premier League goal and first in all competitions since January 2022.
Despite dominating possession after the interval, Fulham struggled to create clear-cut opportunities, while Wolves looked more dangerous on the counter-attack.
Yerson Mosquera missed a glorious chance when he headed wide from close range, before Adam Armstrong came close to snatching victory with an audacious chipped effort that struck the outside of the post.
The final whistle was greeted by boos from sections of the crowd after a result that offered little satisfaction to either side.
While Wolves prepare for life back in the Championship, Fulham are left reflecting on a disappointing end to a campaign that once promised European football.
