Former Gombe State governor and serving All Progressives Congress (APC) Gombe Central Senator, Danjuma Goje, has dismissed rumours of defection from the APC to the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a press statement signed and made available to journalists, Special Assistant to the Senator, Ahmed Isa Kashere, debunked the claim, describing it as a baseless and disinformation.
The aide dismissed the claim as “baseless disinformation” orchestrated by Goje’s political opponents.
Mr Kashere pointed out that Goje recently attended the APC’s national convention and has been actively participating in party activities at the national level, demonstrating his commitment to the party.
“Senator Goje has not quit the APC, nor does he intend to. This disinformation is nothing but mischief from those who seek to undermine his reputation and contributions to the party”, he emphasised.
“The fake news comes amid political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections while Goje’s loyal participation in APC events underscores his steadfast allegiance to the party.
“It’s not surprising that the mischevious elements resort to using mushroom media platforms to dissimenate such baseless claim and this is not the first time and not only on Goje but several politicians battle the same thing especially as election approaches,” he further said.
