The South West Agenda (SWAGA 2023) and North Central Agenda have distributed about 3,000 bags of rice to voters in Plateau State.
SWAGA said the palliative distribution to selected voters across the 17 local government area of the state was in fulfilment of their campaign promises to people of the state prior to the 2023 presidential election that if the APC won the election they would return to show appreciation to the people.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony in Jos, the national coordinator of the group, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, said since he was voted into office, President Tinubu had been doing a lot to fix Nigeria, adding that by next year the president’s efforts would manifest.
Adeyeye, a former minister of state for works said the pains the nation is going through now is a sacrifice that would yield meaningful results at the end and would turn out for the best.
He said the president inherited the country in a bad shape, but with his intension is to fix it, he is focused on doing so rather than complaining.
According to him, if Tinubu completes two terms, he will totally transform Nigeria, adding that if Tinubu hadn’t contested the 2023 presidential election, the cabals would have imposed a candidate on Nigeria.
He urged the electorate to keep faith with the administration and remain supportive as they would eventually reap the reward of their effort.
SWAGA Convener 2023, Oyetunde Ojo, said they had come to thank Plateau people for their support and to reach out to them not only with palliatives but to assure them that the president has the state in mind and would make it up to the state in terms of tackling the challenges and advancing the state economically, agriculturally, in tourism, among others.
