GTCO, Experts, Families Collaborate On Autism Awareness Support

Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) has collaborated with experts and families to hold the 2024 annual autism conference carefully tailored to inform and educate people about autism.

The GTCO management in a media conference at the GTCO head office in Lagos said this year’s edition has the theme: ‘A Spectrum of Possibilities’ and will have different sessions, panel discussions and free consultations for parents of children with autism.

Commenting on the 2024 GTCO Autism Programme, group chief executive officer of Guaranty Trust Holding Company, Mr Segun Agbaje, stated: “Everyone has something special to offer, and we want to help individuals with autism succeed and lead healthy, supportive lives. By embracing autism as a strength and not a weakness, we can help individuals with ASD find their passion, develop skills, and make meaningful impacts in society.

He added, “We are learning more about autism every day, and we are dedicated to using that kilo to make a positive difference. We believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling life, and we are committed to making that possible. By working together, we can build a society that values, promotes inclusion, and empowers everyone to thrive.”

One of the panellists for the programme, Dr. Noimot Balogun, said, “Autism discussions are transcending Africa, and I am thrilled. I hope GTCO will cement the importance of multidisciplinary approaches, where inclusion and diversity mean involving everyone who can impact the holistic care of a child with autism.
