Abia State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (ABSACA) has pledged to continue its free medical/HTS outreaches across the 17 local government areas of the state.

The director general of the agency, Dr. (Mrs). Uloaku Emma-Ukaegbu gave the assurance during an outreach at Eziukwu Ebemoha–Ohafia community in Ohafia local government area.

Emma-Ukaegbu said the outreach is in line with the health sector policy agenda of the present administration in the state and appealed to the people to key into it for their good.

She said, “It is important that you come forward and make good use of this opportunity provided by the governor, Dr. Alex Otti who is poised to ensure good health of every resident of the state.”

The direct general, who commended the people for coming out in large number for the outreach, noted that their action means they value their health and also want to ensure their healthy living.

Responding on behalf of others, Mrs Evelyn Uchoma, commended both the governor and the agency for the outreach, assuring that they will henceforth take adequate care of their health.

One of the highlights of the outreach was counseling on HIV) AIDS, presentation of mama kits to 14 pregnant women, malaria testing and treatment, and question and answer session on many health issues.
