In a region where countless writers struggle to find their voice in the global publishing space, Harmony Publishing is rewriting the narrative. Established in 2016 by Nigerian entrepreneur Chukwuma Okeke, the company has positioned itself as a leading force in Africa’s self-publishing landscape, empowering over 500 authors across the continent and diaspora.

What began as a small editorial team offering basic editing and formatting services has grown into a full-fledged publishing powerhouse. Today, Harmony Publishing provides a comprehensive suite of services, including editing, proofreading, cover design, ISBN and copyright registration, printing, audiobook production, and global distribution. Authors also benefit from quarterly literary magazines, writing workshops, affiliate opportunities, and a global online bookstore—all designed to support and showcase African voices.

“We started with a simple goal—to give African writers a platform that matches international standards,” said Chukwuma Okeke, Founder and CEO of Harmony Publishing. “There was a glaring gap—too many talented writers had stories to tell but no accessible, professional avenue to publish. We’re changing that story.”

In 2023, the company took a significant leap forward by opening its second office in the United States, allowing it to better serve international clients while amplifying the reach of African literature on a global scale. The move was strategic, reflecting Harmony’s commitment to bridging the publishing gap between Africa and the world.

Despite its accomplishments, Harmony Publishing continues to face industry challenges, such as limited access to affordable printing in Nigeria, unstable power supply, and the need for broader public awareness of the value of professional publishing. However, the company remains focused on impact, measuring success through client testimonials, book sales, global distribution metrics, and the growing number of repeat authors engaging its services.
