How I Killed My Brother After Collecting N120,000 Ransom – Suspect

Ibrahim Isa alias Yellow said he lured his brother Kabiru Mohammed into the bush in connivance with a friend to help his brother with some local herbs and eventually held him as a kidnap victim for five days and demanded ransom.

The suspect who made the confession during the parade of nine other suspects for various crimes at the Kaduna State Police command headquarters said it was his friend who encouraged him into the act of kidnapping which his first attempt led him into the police net.

According to his confession, they kept the deceased with them for five days and tortured him to death even after the sum of N120,000 was received from the family as ransom.

Although he said it was not their intention to kill him, he suddenly gave up while he was being beaten.

During the parade of criminal suspects, the Kaduna State Police command spokesperson DSP Muhammad Jalige disclosed that, “On the 30th March,2023 at about 2:28pm . One Ismail Mohammed of Maijere village Saminaka came to the Divisional Police Headquarters Saminaka and reported that on the 4th March, 2023 at about 1000 hours. The suspect Ibrahim Isa alias yellow conspired with One Mai-kunu now at large, kidnapped his brother Kabiru Mohammed  of same address , took him to an unknown destination and demanded N5,000,000  ransom, that after collecting the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (N120,000) from the family they went ahead and killed the victim”.

The suspect however said, he has learnt his lesson bitterly sequel to an evil advice from a friend and regrets his actions.

DSP Jalige further disclosed that the command within the last few weeks, in its onerous task of securing the lives and properties of law-abiding citizens of Kaduna State, has succeeded in arresting 503 suspects for various crimes.

which include; Armed Banditry, Armed Robbery, Handsets/hand bags snatching, Cattle Rustling, Culpable Homicide, Rape, Shop Breaking, Theft, Vandalization of Rail tracks and other related crimes.

 

During investigation, he said a number of recoveries were made which include; four AK47 Rifles, three revolver pistols, two Pump Action guns, 2,800 railway slippers, nine motor vehicles of different brands, two Tricycles, 209 rounds of AK47 live ammunition, 129 rustled cattle, eight sheep and two bags of dry leaves suspected to be indian hemp.

 

The suspects arrested include, Alhaji Adamu Haro, 58 years, Usman Adamu, 20 years, Abubakar Adamu, 18 years, Sani Alhaji Gambo, 35 years, Tukur Gambo, 25 years and Haruna Adamu ‘m’ 30 years.
