The appointment, according to Amb. Nkweke, is a testament to Vice President Shettima’s exceptional leadership and commitment to food security and sustainable development, as demonstrated by his recent impactful presentation at the 2nd United Nations Food Systems Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The statement stated that IAWPA had the highest number of international delegates at the summit, showcasing its commitment to global food security and sustainable development

Nigerians made the best appearances at the summit, with Vice President Shettima’s presentation being one of the most notable.

The statement highlighted Africa Food Club’s Mission, which aims to make agriculture and food production attractive to Africa’s teeming youth, starting with Nigeria.

“IAWPA will make an official presentation to Vice President Shettima later in August 2025, solidifying his role as Lifetime Patron of the Africa Food Club.

“The Africa Food Club is designed to inspire a new generation of young Africans to take up careers in agriculture and food production, starting with Nigeria. We believe that by working together, we can build a more food-secure and sustainable future for Africa,” Amb Nkweke stated.

“This appointment marks a significant milestone in IAWPA’s efforts to promote food security and sustainable development in Africa, and we look forward to working with Vice President Shettima to achieve our goals,” the statement added.
