Imo State deputy governor, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, has assured Imolites that local government administration in the state would enhance the speedy development of rural communities.
She promised that the joint prosperity administration of Hope Uzodimma is on course to make the state better and fulfil the aspirations of Imo citizens.
The deputy governor stated this at Nwaorieubi, the headquarters of Mbaitoli local government area, during the verification exercise of the strength of the executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government by the Macdonald Ebere-led state APC team.
Addressing a cross-section of party faithful, the deputy governor acknowledged the commitment of Mbaitoli APC members and supporters to the affairs of the party and state government, assuring that there would be more grassroots development, economic revitalisation and a better welfare for all.
She also praised the visionary leadership of the governor, Senator Uzodimma, describing him as an action governor committed to bringing infrastructural development and economic emancipation to the people.
Speaking on the strength of the APC in Mbaitoli, the deputy governor who is from the local government area, stated that the party is stronger and better-positioned now than ever.
She added that Ndi’Mbaitoli are unwavering in their support and commitment to the party, stressing that Mbaitoli is fully APC’s stronghold.
The deputy governor also commended the charismatic leadership of the state party chairman, Hon MacDonald Ebere, adding that he has led the party to many electoral victories, especially the overwhelming gubernatorial election triumph and the local government election success.
Lady Ekomaru encouraged the state chairman, who she described as an amazing and erudite scholar, to remain strong, objective and focused in driving the party to more resounding successes.
She also appreciated other leaders of the party, including her husband Barr Chukwuma Ekomaru, the Mbaitoli council chairman, Hon Ifunanya Nwanegwo, the former APC state chairman and Mbaitoli apex leader of the party, Prince Marcellinus Nlemigbo, the House member representing Mbaitoli in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Innocent Ikpamezie; the executive secretary, National Assembly Library Trust Fund, Hon Henry Nwawuba; chairman of IROMA, Barr Kingsley Ononuju, special adviser to the governor on Regional Integration and Cooperation and the members of Mbaitoli legislative council, led by Hon Frank Onyeji, for their fruitful efforts in making the party stronger.
The state party chairman, Dr Ebere commended the deputy governor for playing significant role in the development of the state, especially in rural communities, and assured of a stronger APC.
According to him, it is expected that the verification exercise both at the ward and local government levels would revalidate party membership, expose defected/ departed members and reposition the party better, stronger and more focused on the struggle for better days.
