The Yobe State Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Dr Mohammed Lawan Gana, has disclosed that the Mamman B. Ali Maternal and Child Health Centre in Yobe State Teaching Hospital Damaturu has recorded over 3,000 safe deliveries within one year of operation, highlighting the impact of the state government’s investment in maternal and child healthcare.

Dr Gana made the disclosure while briefing the Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Mohammed Goje, during an inspection visit to the facility as part of activities marking the seventh anniversary of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration.

He described the achievement as a significant milestone in the state’s healthcare sector, noting that the facility has become a key referral centre for maternal and child health services in Yobe State.

According to the commissioner, the centre currently boasts more than 20 consultant specialists and a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals providing quality medical services to women and children.
