The deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Lami Danladi, has hailed the resilience of the girl-child in Nigeria and around globe in overcoming challenges in their determination to succeed in
life.
In a message on the occasion of the 2023 International Day of the Girl-Child on Wednesday, Hon. Danladi congratulated and appreciated the remarkable girls in Nigeria and around the world.
She said, “On this special occasion of the International Day of the Girl-child, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to all the remarkable girls around the world. This day serves as a reminder of the immense potential, strength, and resilience that girls possess.
“I am truly honoured to have the opportunity to recognize and felicitate the exceptional achievements of these girls. Each one of them has overcome challenges, shattered stereotypes, and embraced their dreams with unwavering determination. They have become role models, not only for their peers but for society as a whole.
“Today, we celebrate the countless ways in which girls contribute to our communities, whether it be in the fields of education, science, arts, sports, or social activism. Their voices and ideas have the power to transform our world for the better.”
She stressed that as a female lawmaker, she was deeply committed to fostering an environment where every girl could thrive and reach her full potential.
“I firmly believe in the importance of gender equality and empowerment, and I will continue to advocate for policies and initiatives that ensure a level playing field for girls in all aspects of life.
“To all the girls out there, I want you to know that your dreams are valid and your voices matter. Never doubt your capabilities or feel limited by societal expectations. Believe in yourself, pursue your passions, and remember that you have the power to shape your own destiny.
“On this International Day of the Girl Child, let us come together to celebrate the achievements of girls, amplify their voices, and work towards a future where every girl can thrive, free from discrimination and barriers,” she added.
