Former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, has been appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Governor Abdullahi Sule announced the appointment in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Aliyu Ubandoma, on Thursday. Professor Jega succeeds Professor Adamu David Baikie, the university’s outgoing Pro-Chancellor.

Governor Sule also appointed Mr. Shuaibu Kore, Mr. Thomas Ogiri, and Mrs. Mary Enwongulu as members of the governing council.

The statement said the appointments were based on the governor’s powers as the university’s visitor and aimed at furthering the administration’s commitment to achieving academic excellence at the institution.
