Transporters in Kaduna have hailed the Armed forces of Nigeria for checkmating activities of bandits and kidnappers along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

They gave their commendation on Friday during a Peace and Development sensitisation by the Ayudantes Empowerment Initiative (AEI) in the city.

This is contained in a press statement released by Executive Director of AEI Amechi Chuks Oyema to the press on Sunday.

He said the Peace and Development sensitisation took the team to Rigasa, Central Market, Kano Road, Barkin Ruwa bypass and Abuja Park, all in Kaduna.

According to the group, “the transporters commended the Military under the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa, for making life unbearable for criminals along the route.

“During the sensitisation, the transporters commended troops of the military for interception of terrorists attempting to migrate from Alawa Forest in Niger State to Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State.

“The transporters lamented that the activities of the criminals on the route and other areas in the state have affected their business and economic development.

“They appealed to the military to ensure that they comb the bushes to fish out the kidnappers and their conspirators.

“The transporters welcomed the sensitisation campaign, saying it is a step in building support for the troops of the military who are not relenting in returning peace and stability not only to Kaduna but to the entire North-West.
