The senior counsel to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Barrister Nnaemeka Ejiofor, has refuted a statement credited to him concerning the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

In a recent statement calling for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to meet with IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu to release Kanu, a section of the press misquoted him as contending that ‘the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will help end the carnage of ESN in the southeast’.

Barrister Ejiofor has, however, said that ESN was not mentioned in his statement to the media.
In a rebuttal he made available to the journalists yesterday, he wrote: “The news story with the title

‘Kanu’s lawyers seek Tinubu’s meeting with IPOB leader’ published on Friday misquoted the press release from me. Nowhere in the entire release was ESN ever mentioned.”
