Speaking during a visit to the palace of Emir of Okuta in Baruten local government area of the state,Alh Idris Abubakar, the gubernatorial hopeful lamented the poor state of local government system, describing it as a major hindrance to the development of the people at the grassroots.

He said : “If you listen to President Buhari last week,he was busy castigating the Governors for stealing money through the local governments. One of the first things I promise to do is to re-establish local government authority by conducting the local government election immediately, not later than six months after our elections by God’s grace.”

AbdulRaheem, who was accompanied by other candidates of the party, said his experience in the public service will help bring about the needed transformation in the state.

Responding, the Emir of Okuta, Alh Idris Abubakar lauded the NNPP for flagging off its campaign in Baruten and wished its candidates a successful outing in the coming general elections.
