The newly appointed Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, has announced plans to partner with investors from Malaysia in the 3000 housing project of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The minister stated this over the weekend during his first visit to Kano after his appointment, when he was received by a crowd of supporters.
“If you look at the policy of renewed hope agenda of the president, they have started 3000 houses, only 250 are given to each state, but Kano is given 500 which is already in progress. I will see to the completion of that 500 insha Allah.
“I have a friend that we have started discussing with on the Malaysian housing in which he is very experienced, a friend in person of Prof. Dandago. We have started talking with him, we will invite him, he is going to bring investors for us in achieving our goals as far as housing is concerned,” he stated.
He explained further that he has since been briefed by his directors on the activities of the ministry so far.
“I will start visiting the Kano project and visit all the thirteen projects for the renewed hope agenda of the president.
“I will work tirelessly to ensure that these projects are completed even though most of them are at the early stage of construction. But I will visit them.
“I am going to Gombe for Council on National Housing, we have a project there. I will use that opportunity to see the extent of work done.
Ata described his appointment as an addition to politics as he will do his best to ensure that APC retains Kano State in 2027.
“My Mission, as I have said, is solely political; even though I have been posted to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, I will do my work accordingly, and I will be coming to Kano weekly to mobilize the party,” he stated.
