Singer Owodunni Ibrahim, a.k.a Primeboy, who was earlier declared wanted by the Lagos State Police Command over the circumstances surrounding the death of another singer, Oladimeji IleriOluwa, a.k.a Mohbad, has spoken up on the development.

In an interview with TVC News, shortly before he was taken into custody by the Police, Primeboy denied ever being invited by the Lagos state Police Command over investigation into Mohbad’s death.

“That’s a big lie. How will I receive a message from the Police and I will refuse them? Even before this ‘wanted issue’, I wanted to explain myself at the station because people started accusing me wrongly,” he said.

According to him, he was advised to wait for Police invitation when he suddenly realised he had been declared wanted with a N1million bounty.

“They don’t even know how I feel losing him and now they’re accusing me.

“I want Justice for Mohbad. His wife framed me online,” Primeboy claimed.

Speaking about his relationship with Mohbad, he said: “I was his step-mother, I was his dad, I was his friend, he lived with me. My mum fed both of us.”

Recall that on Thursday, Lagos Police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the singer had been taken into custody for interrogation and other necessary actions over Mohbad’s death.

The PPRO wrote, “Following his being declared wanted, Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin aka Primeboy has turned himself in. He has, immediately, been taken into custody for interrogation and other necessary actions.

“The Lagos State Police Command once again assures family, friends, fans of Mohbad and the general public that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring a most diligent investigation. The Command equally assures that all persons found culpable in the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad will definitely be brought to justice.”
