The group’s spokesman and author, Mr Anote Ajeluorou said the year’s event which kicked off with a members-only ‘meet and greet’, will expand to include a virtual celebration of the 4th anniversary of NBRP on February 7, 2024 themed ‘Getting Back The Reading Groove’, the annual Lagos Book Walk billed for March 7, 2024, and the flag-off of Yenagoa as the Nigerian National Book Clubs City of the year on April 23, 2024. Yenagoa takes up the baton from Lagos which had succeeded Uyo the year before.

The virtual anniversary celebration of NBRP will feature conversations amongst notable book promoters across the country who have made significant significant impact in the reading chain value as the founder of the Abuja Writers Forum (AWF), Dr Emman Usman Shehu; representative, African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AFLIA), Dr Nkem Osuigwe; Vice President-elect of Literacy Promotion Association of Nigeria (LPAN, formerly Reading Association of Nigeria), Professsor Nkechi Christopher; and Dr Kole Odutola of the University of Florida, United States.
