National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu approval to run new National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes, effective the 2025/2026 academic session.
The approval was detailed in a letter signed by Dr. Fatima Kabir Umar, director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes at NBTE.
According to the letter, the new National Diploma programmes, include Mass Communication, Organic Agricultural Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology, Crime Management, Common and Islamic Law and Environmental Science and Management Technology.
Others are Forensic Science, Water Resources Engineering Technology, Cartography and GIS, Health Information Management, Pharmaceutical Technology, Public Technology and Environmental Health Technology.
LEADERSHIP learned that the NBTE has also granted five-year accreditation (from the 2025 session) to 36 existing polytechnic programmes.
These include various ND and HND programmes in fields such as Agricultural Technology, Accountancy, Business Administration, Engineering, and Surveying.
