NGOs Donate Learning Materials To Almajiri Schools In Kaduna

Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Kaduna State under the auspices of Women and Children’s Rights and Empowerment Foundation of Nigeria (WCREFN) and the Muslim Peace Networks (MPN), have distributed Arabic learning materials to Islamic schools in the state.

The director of WCREFN, Barr. Maryam Abdu, said the NGOs collaborated to strengthen Islamic education among Almajiri schools in Kaduna.

She said their aim is to improve the standard of Almajiri education and the school system as a whole especially in the north.

“We distributed these items which includes Arabic slates, inks and pens to enable the Islamic students to improve in learning of Arabic education,” she said

According to her, empowering Almajiri children with the needed materials will reduce the number of children roaming around the streets.

The director, Muslim Peace Network in Kaduna Imam Hussain Makanjuola stressed the need to strengthen peace and unity in the state.

He emphasised the importance of Arabic education and the necessity of providing students with the tools to acquire sound knowledge.

According to him, there is need for inclusive education for all children across the 23 local governments of the state, regardless of tribe, culture, religion, or historical background.

In appreciation, the chairman of the association of Tsangaya Schools in Kaduna South, Alaramma Saliyu Muhammad expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement towards the education of their children.
