NIFOR Indigenes In Diaspora Inaugurate 2 Classroom Block In Edo

The Nigerian Institute of Oil Palm Research (NIFOR) indigenes in Houston, Texas, United States, inaugurated a two-classroom block in NIFOR Secondary School yesterday.

President, NIFOR Indigenes in Houston, Chief Johnson Egiebor inaugurated the project on behalf of other members in Benin.

Inaugurating the project, Egiebor said it was more than just a building, adding that it fulfilled a shared dream and was a testament to their roots.

He explained that the gesture was a demonstration of the enduring bond they have with the school.

“It is with immense pride and gratitude that we gather here today to inaugurate these two new classrooms at NIFOR Secondary School.

“As alumni of this great school, the values and education we received here have been the foundation of our successes, both individually and collectively.

“No matter how far life has taken us, the lessons, friendships, and memories from our time here remain close to our hearts.

“Our motivation is simple: to give back to the institution that gave us so much.

“We know the power of education to transform lives because we are living examples, ” he said.

He maintained that the association wanted to ensure that the next generation of students had access to better resources and opportunities.

“It is about creating an environment where young minds can dream bigger, learn better, and grow stronger.

“It is about ensuring that NIFOR Secondary School continues to produce leaders and change makers who will make an impact in our community and beyond, ” he added.

Egiebor urged the students to use the facility to strive for excellence and make their parents proud.

The president thanked members of the association who contributed to making the initiative a success.

According to him, this is a collective effort, adding that they have proven that when they unite for a cause, great things can happen.

Also speaking, the executive director, NIFOR, Dr Isona Gold thanked the association and urged other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture.

Gold used the opportunity to call on the state Ministry of Education to visit NIFOR Secondary School and revamp it.
