In a gripping encounter at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, Nigeria leads Tunisia 1-0 at halftime in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group C clash on Saturday night.

The decisive moment came just before the break when striker Victor Osimhen scored with a powerful header, capitalising on a precise cross from Ademola Lookman.

The match saw an aggressive start from both teams, with Nigeria’s Osimhen testing the Tunisian defense early on. Although he missed a few opportunities, his persistence paid off in the 44th minute. Following a flurry of attacks, Lookman delivered a well-placed cross that Osimhen converted from close range, sending the Nigerian fans into a frenzy.

Despite Nigeria’s dominance in possession, Tunisia remained resilient, thwarting several attempts and creating their own chances, though they struggled to find the back of the net. The first half also featured multiple fouls and a yellow card for Osimhen, emphasising the match’s competitive nature.

As the teams head into the break, Nigeria will look to build on their lead, while Tunisia will need to regroup and strategise for a comeback in the second half. The battle for supremacy continued as both teams vied for crucial points in the tournament.
