The chief executive officer (CEO) of Piaget, Benjamin Comar, has described Nigeria’s luxury market as a globally competitive and vibrant frontier for creativity.

Comar stated this during a recent visit to Polo Luxury’s headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos, where he engaged distinguished guests, collectors, editors, and industry leaders in an exclusive evening of conversation and celebration of luxury, innovation, and craftsmanship.

He commended Nigerian consumers for their sophistication and awareness, noting that they are among the most discerning in the world.

“The Nigerian customer is going everywhere — Piaget in Paris, Piaget in New York, Piaget in Dubai. They’re very savvy. What the rest of the world is buying, the Nigerian customer is already clued on to and buying the same thing. They’re proud of us,” Comar said.

He highlighted Piaget’s growing focus on Africa, explaining that the continent’s rich cultural vibrancy and deep appreciation for artistry have inspired the brand’s renewed engagement with the region’s evolving luxury landscape.

“Nigerians enjoy good things, and Piaget is a company for people who enjoy life. So, I think there’s a big market for us to be here,” he added.

Comar reaffirmed Piaget’s commitment to deepening its relationship with African collectors and clients, stressing that true luxury today must inspire emotion while remaining rooted in authenticity and creative excellence.

He said Piaget remains dedicated to cultivating meaningful connections with discerning clients and expanding its presence through trusted partnerships such as Polo Luxury.

On his part, the managing director of Polo Luxury Group, Mr John Obayuwana, applauded the enduring partnership between Polo and Piaget, describing it as a relationship anchored on shared values and a commitment to elevating the luxury experience in Nigeria and across Africa.

“For more than a decade, Polo Luxury has proudly represented some of the world’s most prestigious watch and jewellery maisons in Nigeria. Our relationship with Piaget reflects our commitment to presenting timeless craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation to Africa’s most discerning clients,” Obayuwana said.

He added that Polo’s success lies in its dedication to excellence and long-term partnerships, noting that the visit by Piaget’s CEO reaffirms Nigeria’s importance in the global luxury conversation.

“Piaget’s CEO visit is symbolic of our partnership and a reaffirmation of Nigeria’s relevance in the global luxury conversation. It underscores the confidence the leading Switzerland-based brand has in us,” he stated.

The exclusive event concluded with an intimate fine dining experience at one of Lagos’s premium venues. The Piaget delegation, Polo Luxury executives, and notable collectors shared an evening of haute cuisine, champagne cocktails, and warm conversations, reflecting the shared ethos of refined luxury, excellence, and partnership that defines both Piaget and Polo Luxury.
