The Renewed Hope, Renewed Patience Group has said the Northern geopolitical zone must be compelled to honour the zoning formula, adding that it has no business fielding any candidate for the presidential election in 2027.

The group however said no competent candidate can match the achievements of President Bola Tinubu in the last two years.

National coordinator of the group, Citizen Tom Obulu, said, “They are not even fielding potent candidates that can beat president Tinubu, they keep rolling worn out candidates who have been tested and failed and have become serial losers.

“We are calling on the Nigerian media to give audience to any statements made by the northerners against Tinubu in 2027.

“The North should concentrate on its lack of national leadership.

The likes of Tafawa Balewa, Sarduana of Sokoto, provided exemplary leadership.

“The new Tafawa Balewa or Sarduana of Sokoto are already rallying round President Tinubu in the likes of the Shettimas, the Gandujes, the Matawalles, the Badarus and the Bagudus who are likely to emerge the new Tafawa Balewa or the Sarduna of Sokoto and who are the mobilisers of the Northern votes and not the likes of elRufai, Atiku, Shehu Mahdi making noise like sounds of fury that signify nothing and nothing.

“Atiku will fail again having relied on the South East in which the Ohanaeze representing the the East have told him off and Peter Obi has said categorically that he will not go into any alliance that will take over power from Tinubu which is the sole agenda of former vice president Atiku Abubakar,” he said.
