Ogunbiyi Urges Prayers For Nigeria Leaders

Amid the challenges of fragile peace and security in the country, the Ambassador to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ifako District, in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Council Area, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, Amb. Kehinde Mary Ogunbiyi has emphasised the importance of prayer for the nation’s leaders.

Ogunbiyi, who made the call while speaking with journalists in Lagos during the recent Adult Harvest and Bazaar celebration held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Ifako Agege, anchored by the Catholic Men Organisation of Nigeria (CMO), with its theme “Harvest of Hope”, blamed unpatriotic acts by many people for the insecurity in the land.

Urging Nigerians to desist from acts of saboteurs and cursing the country, Ogunbiyi said praying for the leaders is the surest way to overcome the present economic challenges and political instability ravaging our nation.

She said, “As a nation, we must remain prayerful and consistently pray for our leaders, rather than rain curses on them because the country will stay in woes with curses on the leaders.

She said that in praying for them, God would listen to our cries and turn to prosper their ways to the righteous path, and lead the people to the promised land.”

Mrs Ogunbiyi, a school proprietor and the immediate past President of the Catholic Women Organisation of Nigeria (CWO) of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Ifako Agege, maintained that if we persevere in prayers, God would grant us peaceful co-existence, restore normalcy and grant more fruitful blessings upon the nation and its citizenry.
