Police Arrest 4 Robbery Suspects In Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested four out of the six armed robbery suspects that snatched a motorcycle at gunpoint at the Akute axis of Ifo local government area of the state.

The four suspects, who specialized in snatching motorcycles from owners using guns, were apprehended after a hot chase launched against them by the police patrol team attached to Ajuwon Divisional Headquarters of the state.

The command’s public relations officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, gave their identity to include a 20-year old Muhammad Adamu; Okacha Alidu (22); Yusuf Mohammed (28) and 20 years old Muniru Sunmaila.

Oyeyemi explained that the police patrol team was hurriedly mobilized by the Ajuwon Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ajuwon division, Andrew Akinseye, after receiving a distress call that the suspected robbers were operating around 3a.m at the Onibudo area of Akute and had succeeded at snatching a Bajaj brand motorcycle from one Sunday Doile.

The PPRO further stated that the suspected robbers took to their heels in different directions upon sighting a police patrol team, with one of them escaping with Doile’s motorcycle, while four others were caught by the determined law enforcing officers after a hot chase.

“On interrogation, they confessed to being the syndicate responsible for various cases of motorcycle snatching in Ajuwon and its environs. They confessed further that their mode of operation is to use a motorcycle belonging to one of them to cross the one they want to snatch and they will show their gun to the victim and order him to surrender his motorcycle.
