To forestall any breakdown of law and order in Kano State, the Police Command has initiated another meeting with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) as well as representatives of the 44 local government areas of the state to sign another peace accord.

Addressing newsmen at the signing of the accord at the police headquarters in Kano, the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usain Gumel expressed the need for peace in the state during the Christmas season as well as the judgement to be delivered by the Supreme Court.

Also present at the event were heads of other security agencies in the state including the Army, Civil Defense Corps, Customs and Immigration.

All parties involved in the signing of the accord agreed to call their people to order, especially those that represented the local government areas (Tudunwada, Gezawa and Wudil) that serve as entry points to Kano State from neighbouring states.

The CP reiterated the need for a peaceful yuletide devoid of any kind of threat to peace and stability of the state.
