According to the Katstina State Police Public Relations Officer, Sadiq Aliyu, the first incident occurred on Saturday, when a distress call regarding an attempted kidnapping on the Jibia-Kauran Namoda road was received at the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters.

Adding that swiftly, the police operatives and soldiers engaged the suspects in a gun duel, rescuing four kidnapped victims and rushing them to the hospital for medical attention. Tragically, one victim died from gunshot injuries.

In a separate incident, the Faskari Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call about another kidnapping attempt at Unguwar Boka village, Faskari local government area, along the Funtua-Gusau road.

The operatives also responded promptly, engaging the assailants in a shootout and rescuing two kidnapped victims unharmed. Regrettably, one victim was fatally shot during the attack.
