Police Warn Against Diversion Of Agric Materials, Others In Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has warned farmers against diversion, vandalism or sale of farm tools, equipment and relief materials distributed by the state government, vowing that such will be met with stiff resistance.

The items, as donated by the Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, were meant to boost agricultural production, foster food security, and enhance citizens’ well-being.

Governor Buni at the flag-off of distribution of the items declared that the distributed items were not for sale.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yobe Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim explained that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Emmanuel Ado warned that anyone found flouting government directives will be arrested and prosecuted.

He expressed the Command’s commitment towards maintaining security, safety, and protecting life and property.

CP Ado called on the residents to report incidents of diversion, vandalism, or illegal sale of government property, citizens to nearby security offices.

He also appealed to people of the state to contact the Command’s hotline on: 08036761121, 08079888897 or visit the nearest police station and report any security infraction to designated government officials.

Residents of the state are further urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities. “Let’s work together to ensure the success of government programmes,” the statement urged.
