Kebbi State government has concluded arrangements for the commencement of Ramadan feeding in mosques approved by Governor Nasir Idris.
This year’s mode of feeding is different from the previous ones as the present administration has decided to feed people with raw food instead of pap and cake.
While fielding questions from newsmen in his office in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, the commissioner for religious affairs, Muhammed Sani Aliyu, said Governor Idris had provided customised grains to the committees for distribution to the public at the designated mosques/centres.
He said nine mosques were earmarked in each of the 20 local government areas of the state in which three mosques will be given their packages in the first 10 days, another three mosques in the second 10 days and three mosques in the last 10 days of Ramadan respectively.
In Birnin Kebbi local government area, the commissioner said 16 mosques are earmarked for the distribution of the packages.
Aliyu called on the people to remain calm saying that the packages will reach all and sundry.
He commended the governor for approving the amendment in the feeding system, which according to him, would record a huge success.
