Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has congratulated Muslims in the state and across Nigeria on Eid-el-Adha 2026, urging them to remain vigilant amid rising security challenges.

In his Sallah message, Makinde congratulated the Muslim faithful on witnessing the Festival of Sacrifice and prayed that God preserve their lives to witness more years in good health and abiding wealth.

He called on Muslims in Oyo State to use the occasion to pray more for the state, Nigeria and its leaders, and to specifically pray for the government’s ongoing efforts to rescue abducted Oriire teachers and pupils.

The governor charged all residents to be vigilant during and after the Sallah festival, stressing the need for heightened security consciousness as the country battles banditry and kidnapping.

Makinde reassured that his administration would continue to serve the people’s interests, remain committed t(o securing the state and its people, and move them toward greater economic prosperity.
