Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Doyenne of Insurance Broking Profession, Mrs Modupeola Dallass-Olusanya, will both receive Almond Special Recognition Award 2024.

The 85-year-old Olusanya is still very active in mentoring young Insurance Professionals.

The Annual Almond Insurance Industry Awards and Consumers’ ‘Nite,’ which is the biggest social platform of the Nigerian Insurance Industry, is set to hold on November 1 in Victoria Island, Lagos.

A statement yesterday by the CEO of Almond Productions Limited, Ms Faith Ughwode, noted that, Lagos State, over the years, has blazed the trail when it comes to supporting the insurance and pensions sectors through annual budgetary allocations for the payment of premiums and pensions ahead of other states of the federation and even the federal government in some cases.

This, she said, takes a visionary leader to continue and improve on existing systems as Governor Sanwo-Olu embodies vision and progress, noting that “we are glad to have him shine at the awards this year.”

She noted that the 2024 awards tagged, “Reinvent Edition,” will parade top-rated performances from MC Akproko, MC Ajele, Kelvin Sapp and a host of others. Music headliners are Goya Menor and Terry G while Nedu Wazobia will host the awards.

In line with the tradition of the awards in extending invitation to insurance practitioners in the West African Sub-Region, she disclosed that the president of the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA) from Banjul, The Gambia, will be among the guest presenters this year.

Also expected as guest presenters, according to her, are top government functionaries and critical stakeholders from other key sectors of the economy.

The shortlisted Award categories this year are: Life Insurance Company of the year! General Insurance Company of the year, Insurance CEO of the year! Insurance Broker of the year! Insurance Broking Company of the year, Takaful Insurance Company of the year! Micro Insurance Company of the year, Insurance Woman of the year, Most valuable Insurance Customer of the year! Insurance Life Achiever’s Award (Insurer or Broker) and Special Recognition Award 2024.
