Seyi Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment To Youth Empowerment

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has restated his commitment to youth development and national service, distancing himself from recent allegations made by a factional student leader.

Known for his reserved nature and philanthropic efforts, Seyi has consistently supported young Nigerians through scholarships, mentorship programmes, and emergency relief interventions.

Through his work, he has provided scholarships, mentorship, and resources to countless Nigerians, and even recently he donated the sum of 500 million Naira to victims of the Maiduguri flood which ravaged 70 percent of the city and displaced millions of residents.

In a statement issued by an award-winning investigative journalist and advocate for good governance, Arabinrin Aderonke Atoyebi, Seyi was praised for his character and contributions.

“Those who know Seyi Tinubu closely can testify to his humility, his quiet philanthropy, and his deep commitment to Nigerian youth. The allegations against him are not only false but an insult to the values he represents,” Atoyebi said.

The comments come in the wake of accusations by Comrade Isa Atiku Abubakar, a self-proclaimed factional president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), who alleged that Seyi Tinubu plotted an attack on him after the student body’s leadership transition.

Atiku’s claims have varied—from assault, to kidnap, to bribery—but have not been substantiated with credible evidence.

In response, Seyi Tinubu firmly denied knowing or ever meeting Atiku, saying in a brief statement that, “I have never had any contact with Isa Atiku. These allegations are completely false and unfounded.”

The recent NANS convention was widely regarded as free, fair, and conclusive, with Comrade Olushola Oladoja of the University of Jos emerging as the new president alongside 18 other executives. The event was attended by state governors, ministers, and other dignitaries.

Atoyebi warned against attempts to tarnish reputations for political leverage, urging stakeholders to “protect the integrity of student leadership from misinformation and internal power struggles.”

Seyi Tinubu, for his part, has maintained a calm stance, refusing to be drawn into factional battles. His supporters insist that he remains focused on his work with the youth and won’t be derailed by politically motivated distractions.
Truthfully, the public can see through the performance.

It is time to focus on what matters. The baton has passed. Let the new leaders serve.
