A stakeholder in Bayelsa State, Mr James Achogbuo, has described the appointment of Dr. Rosalyn Dressman, as Director General of Bayelsa Electricity Regulatory Agency, as a strategic move to bolster the Bayelsa Electricity sector.
Achogbuo spoke to newsmen in Owerri, regarding the appointment and its benefits to the state.
According to him, “In a strategic effort to bolster Bayelsa State’s electricity sector, the Governor of the state, His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri has appointed Dr RosaLyn A. Dressman as the new Director General of the Bayelsa State Electricity Regulatory Agency. With her extensive experience in the energy and diaspora sectors, Dr Dressman is well-positioned to leverage her global network to enhance the state’s electricity infrastructure and drive sustainable development.
“Dr Dressman brings a wealth of expertise, having served in numerous high-impact roles across Europe and Nigeria.
As the former President of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Germany (NIDO), she played a key role in bridging the gap between Nigeria and the international community, fostering partnerships that have benefited the nation. Her leadership as CEO of AfricanTide Union highlighted her dedication to empowering African communities abroad, providing vocational training, and facilitating cultural integration for migrants.
“Her previous role as the Diaspora Focal Point Officer for Bayelsa State further deepened her connection to the region, where she worked tirelessly to strengthen relationships between the Nigerian diaspora and their homeland, supporting development initiatives and cultural exchange. Notably, Dr Dressman has been a prominent advocate for inclusive policies during her time as Diversity Manager in Dortmund, Germany, where she championed the rights and integration of not just African migrants.”
Achogbuo was of the view that; “Dr Dressman is expected to introduce innovative, globally informed strategies to revitalize Bayelsa’s electricity infrastructure. This appointment marks a new era for Bayelsa’s electricity sector, one characterized by progress, reliability, and sustainable growth. Under Dr Dressman’s leadership, Bayelsa is set for adequate connected, energy-secure future that will benefit its people for generations to come.”
