The Alaafin-elect, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, has declared that one of his agendas is to remove graduate youths seeking jobs from the streets.

The monarch, who spoke through his director of media and publicity, Bode Durojaiye, said in a statement on Tuesday that this would be done by creating vocational skills for the unemployed youths.

He promised to help some graduates with a BSc or HND in cyber security to prevent them from seeking greener pastures abroad.

The monarch said he would continue from where his predecessor, the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, stopped, towards promoting culture and improving the Sango and Oranmiyan festivals.

He also assured widows and widowers would be empowered to improve their socio-economic lives.

“What is more, the development of health facilities has been my priority, and I want to be remembered for it during my reign,” he said.

Alaafin Owoade added that he had negotiated with international organisations, and they have agreed to support him in developing his kingdom.

Oba Owoade also promised to make sure the artefacts taken away by the British in 1895 were brought back with some payments, as he promised to revisit the inglorious era practically.
