Terrorists Planning To Attack Kano, Police Alert Residents

The Kano State Police Command has urged residents of the state to be cautious and avoid crowded places until further notice as a preventive measure to enable security operatives identify and dislodge possible attackers in the state.

The spokesman of the command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, in a statement yesterday, said the police in liaison with other security agencies had received intelligence reports of suspected terrorists planning to launch attacks on public gatherings in strategic locations within the state.

He said the command was on high alert and had put in place necessary security arrangements with a team of experts from the command’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear units deployed to strategic locations around the state.

While calling on the public to report any suspicious activity and remain vigilant, Kiyawa said the unit can be contacted through: 08169884988 or 07067157218 and 08032419754, 09029292926 for report of suspicious persons or item(s) or report to the nearest police station.
