General Secretary of the International Organisation of Tijaniyyah Brotherhood (IOTB), Prof. Mohammed Mustapha Gwadabe, has revealed a new restructuring plan to ensure better administration at all levels of IOTB as well as the Tijaniyyah Muslim Students’ Association of Nigeria (TIMSAN)

The goal, he said, is to structure the link between both groups.

Prof. Gwadabe, who stated this during IOTB’s national conference in Abuja recently, said other plans include developing a blueprint for every activity of IOTB and setting an enduring way to achieve them.

He disclosed that IOTB would reach out to like-minded individuals to boost the organisation‘s progress and acquire permanent headquarters nationally and within geographical zones and states.

According to him, the deputy chairman, assistant secretary-general, and women‘s representative should come from the south. At the same time, state coordinators will be established, and a governing body of founding members and national officials will be established.

The scribe called for the establishment of the organisation’s branches nationwide, noting that a branch can be formed in any geographical location in the country with a minimum of 19 financial members.

He listed their approved programmes to include: Annual conference with Tijaniyyah scholars, academicians and students under TIMSAN; national, regional and tertiary institution’s Maulid celebrations; Qur’an sciences and memorisation programme; public education on the true meaning of Islam; vacation courses for secondary school students in locations where IOTB branches are functional to enhance their learning skills and morals; Entrepreneurial vocational programme for graduating students of tertiary institutions to improve professional development and livelihood; spiritual visit programme both nationally and internationally; Almajiri assistance and feeding programme and medical outreach programme.

Gwadabe also disclosed that all TIMSAN members who finish their studies are automatic members of IOTB, and he directed the secretariat to work out a transition programme to formalise their membership.
