The Chief Executive Officer of Sands Consulting, Adeniyi Tinubu, has intensified efforts to strengthen Canada–Nigeria real estate partnerships by promoting investment opportunities in Lagos and proposing greater collaboration between leading real estate institutions in both countries at the ongoing Nigeria Diaspora Economic Conference (NIDEC) in Toronto, Canada.

Speaking during a panel session on “Infrastructure and Real Estate Investment as a Catalyst for Diaspora Wealth Creation,” Tinubu said stronger institutional partnerships would boost investor confidence, encourage knowledge exchange and attract greater diaspora investment into Nigeria’s rapidly expanding real estate sector.

He stressed that Lagos remains one of Africa’s most promising mega cities for iconic real estate developments.

As part of the initiative, Tinubu disclosed that he plans to meet with the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) to discuss a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FIABCI Nigeria.

He said the agreement would provide a framework for professional collaboration, promote international best practices and strengthen confidence among diaspora investors interested in Lagos’ emerging landmark projects.

“Such a partnership will create a framework for professional collaboration, enhance investor confidence and promote global best practices for diaspora investment in Lagos’ emerging iconic projects,” Tinubu said.

Throughout the conference, held from August 11 to 16, Tinubu engaged Canadian business leaders, architects, builders and international real estate investors.

Among those he met were former President of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, Architect Samuel Oboh, directors of FIABCI Canada and other stakeholders to explore sustainable urban development, innovative infrastructure models and cross-border investment opportunities.

In another major highlight, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) honoured Tinubu with its International Realtor Member of the Year award in recognition of his leadership, global engagement and contributions to advancing professional real estate standards and international collaboration.

Reacting to the recognition, Tinubu said the award reinforces the growing confidence of international stakeholders in Nigeria’s real estate market and further positions the country for stronger collaboration with global investors.

“This recognition strengthens our commitment to building enduring partnerships that will unlock new investment opportunities between Nigeria and the international real estate community,” he said.

Tinubu also announced that he has been invited to deliver a keynote address at the Canada Real Estate and Hospitality Exchange (CARTHE) in June 2027 and to participate in the FIABCI World Congress in Toronto in May 2027.

He said both engagements would provide additional platforms to showcase Lagos’ investment opportunities while deepening Canada–Nigeria cooperation in real estate development and diaspora investment.
