In a communiqué released yesterday in Abuja, TPI convener Comrade Saheed Akanmu commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Dr. Turaki, describing him as a dynamic leader with a proven track record in finance, emergency management, and community development.

“Dr. Sanusi Bala Turaki’s commitment to progress and innovation is well known,” Akanmu stated.

“His leadership at Hafmoh Energy and his role in emergency management have demonstrated his ability to drive impactful initiatives. We are confident that his tenure at the NWDC will usher in a new era of development and empowerment for our people.”

Dr. Turaki, a financial expert, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, has been instrumental in various initiatives aimed at economic growth and social inclusion.

His contributions include the construction of classroom blocks, boreholes, mosques, and Islamic schools.

“As the former Director-General of the Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency, he played a crucial role in crisis management and humanitarian relief, earning widespread recognition for his efforts.

“Beyond infrastructure, his commitment to education has resonated with young Nigerians.

He has awarded full scholarships to 33 students at the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Gusau, covering tuition, accommodation, and allowances. Additionally, he has provided scholarships to 130 students at the Federal University Gusau, easing financial burdens on students and their families,” it said.

“The NWDC is a critical institution tasked with addressing infrastructural deficits, economic stagnation, and security concerns in the North-West region. Dr. Turaki’s appointment aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which prioritises unity, economic prosperity, and social inclusion,” he added.
