United Arab Emirate (UAE) President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has conferred the Medal of Independence of the First Order on the Nigerian Ambassador to the country, Mohammed Dansanta Rimi.
According to an online newspaper, businesstraffic.com.ng, the conferment was to mark the end of the tenure of Rimi as Nigerian Ambassador to UAE at an event held at the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The UAE Foreign Affairs Minister, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan who presented the medal to Rimi, emphasised the country’s readiness to enhance ties with Nigeria in various fields.
He lauded the Ambassador’s role in advancing the distinct bilateral relations during his tenure in the UAE, and wished him success and development in his career.
On his part, Ambassador Rimi expressed gratitude to the UAE president as well as the minister and its global position and reputation.
The Nigerian envoy also commended the progress achieved in the relations between the two countries and thanked all UAE entities for their cooperation that positively contributed to the success of his mission to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
