Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Bauchi State, Barrister Abubakar Abdulhamid has said that issues of security can neither be over-emphasized nor politicalised, expressing regret that the original architecture of the state has been compromised by successive governments and the citizens.

The bastardisation of security issues across the state, according to the commissioner, has been on for over three decades until Governor Bala Mohammed came to the stage in 2019 where he deemed it fit that the Bauchi metropolis masterplan be referred to and go to its original format.

The commissioner, in a statewide media interactive session yesterday, noted that those obstructions or compromise have been causing a lot of insecurity in the state, and equally obstructed roads users and compromised other highways and pavements with heinous crimes and offences being perpetrated in those illegal structures in Bauchi metropolis.
