Business owners in Enugu  State have declared that they are now making huge profits since people stopped obeying  the  Sit-at-home order of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB).

They spoke to LEADERSHIP in an exclusive interview in Enugu, stating that  Monday is now their favourite day to do business.

IPOB declared a Sit -At-Home in the five states of the Southeast as part of their agitation for the actualization of the defunct Biafra Republic.

But on assumption of office, Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah told people to disregard the order and subsequently provided  adequate security in the different parts of the state.
Besides, the governor established a control center for monitoring of the activities of people including vehicles that come into the state.

Satisfied with the security measures, traders at the different markets started opening their shops for businesses.

Obinna Mbakwe, a phone repairer at Ogbete’s main market, said he now makes a big profit on Mondays.

“Honestly, since people started coming out on Mondays, I have been making serious profits. Before Sit-At-Hone was stopped in Enugu, I could hardly feed my family because people were not coming out, but now that we have adequate and modern security in Enugu, everybody comes out on Monday, and we are doing good business,” he stated.

Another business owner at Ogui Road Enugu, Mrs Ifeoma, who sells cooked beans and plantains, said  she  has been making good profits since Sit-At-Home stopped in Enugu.

“I’m happy that people are no longer sitting at home on Mondays, and since then, we have been doing good business. We thank the governor and security agencies for making it possible,” she stated.
